A Little Unscripted Cantina

A news anchor may occasionally attribute their mistakes to the teleprompter. Sometimes, though, an adlib goes horribly wrong, and the anchor is only to blame. Like this Canadian news announcer who clumsily introduced the weather report by remarking to his female co-anchor, “Maybe we can canoodle before you get into it.” She was obviously astonished and rejected the offer right away. Adam Lee/YouTube During the conversation that followed, the anchor admitted that he apparently believed the concept of “canoodle” to be chit-chat rather than cuddling. Sure, buddy, uhuh. Naturally, as the conversation went on, the anchor pleaded for the program to end. He smiled foolishly and said, “Take it away; get me off camera.”
