Technical Challenges

One of the BBC’s worst news gaffes ever occurred in 2017. Additionally, Hugh Edwards, a channel host for more than 25 years, had the idea during one of the most popular programs: BBC Nightly News at 10. BBC For nearly three minutes, which is a long time on live TV, a technical fault bombarded viewers with random video clips, interrupted by the loud “Breaking News” announcement. Millions of viewers from all over the world tuned in to witness one of the longest technical glitches in TV history. The camera would occasionally shift to Edwards, who was studying his notes while sitting motionless at the news desk. Edwards claimed that he was unaware of what was occurring. After what felt like an age, the presenter finally began the show and pretended like nothing had happened.
