Channel 3 intended to show a picture of the individual whom authorities believed to be responsible for the crime during a very serious story about the disappearance of a sixteen-year-old girl named Molly Bish. As you can see, though, that did not occur. Rodney Stanger was the suspect, but Channel 3 inadvertently showed a photo of a hamster in place of him! The newscaster was able to maintain composure, whereas the majority of us would have laughed incessantly. She instantly responded, without the slightest trace of humor, “Well, no, obviously this is not Rodney Stanger.” She then made a commitment that they would later re-show Stanger’s photo, which they did.
