The title of this photo, “I Guess Summer’s Over,” comes from the fact that the pigeon was contently seated in October when he received a very sharp warning that summer was coming to an end. We can thank John Speirs for this amusing image.

This pigeon was about to take off when he got struck in the face and had his vision obscured by a dead leaf. This image appears to be a small measure of harmless justice, given how bothersome pigeons are to people living in cities on a regular basis.
