1. Construct a PVC Pipe Trellis

Supplies Required: Twine, PVC pipes, or tree limbs that have been clipped
Making It Cost: $20*
It’s general knowledge that having a trellis to support their growth improves the growth of beans and cucumbers. Trellises can be pricey to purchase (at Home Depot, they run between $30 and $40), but you can create one for free on your own land.

First, use items such as PVC pipes or saplings, or trim branches off of trees. Arrange the limbs in a ladder or grid pattern, then use a strong length of twine to secure the points where they cross. This will reduce yard waste in addition to providing your plants with an inexpensive trellis.
