A sloth named “Sanadora” turned out to be a surprising therapeutic revelation in an alternative medicine clinic in Costa Rica. Her presence in the meditation garden of the clinic assisted patients in finding tranquilly and relaxation. The sloth’s deliberate, sluggish motions motivated fresh ideas for mindfulness exercises and stress relief. Healthcare professionals included observations of Sanadora’s behavior into their therapy efforts, therefore developing creative approaches to mental health treatment combining conventional healing approaches with wildlife observation.
