3. Mine Detection Submersible

The Mine Detection Submersible has a major electromagnetic sensing flaw. Operating close to naturally occurring magnetic anomalies, common in underwater volcanic areas, the advanced metal detection algorithms of the system are seriously compromised. Moreover, the apparently revolutionary quantum magnetometer of the platform suffers complete sensor blindness in some kinds of mineral deposits. In real minefields, the submersible’s autonomous navigation system also fails to maintain accurate positioning when running close to underwater structures with high ferrous content, so rendering it dangerously unreliable.
