Due to their diminutive stature and adorable appearance, rabbits are a popular pet; yet, the Flemish rabbit has a maximum length of four feet. The breed was created in Belgium and has been around since the 16th century.

A common belief is that the rabbit originated from the now extinct Patagonian gigantic rabbit through selective breeding. Originally bred for their meat and fur, these rabbits are now rather popular as pets because of their pleasant disposition.
