8. The Rhodesian Ridgeback Has a Gentle Side

Originally bred for security, the magnificent Rhodesian Ridgeback has their roots in South Africa. They so remain a particularly devoted and protective dog breed that will carefully guard the family house. Though they only behave defensively if provoked, their great instincts make them great watchdogs; they are not aggressive against strangers. Often building close relationships with their family members, they are loving dogs that show affection to the people who have gained their confidence inside a household. Although the red-coated Rhodesian Ridgeback is a loving dog breed, their strong-willed and independent character makes this dog breed not advised for first-time owners or homes with extremely little children. They need for an experienced owner that can offer consistent socialising and training. Under appropriate direction, they may be gentle giants who are loving and protective, so providing a warm and safe surroundings for their family.
