In addition to being a multicultural metropolis, Dubai has strong Islamic roots. Recognising these cultural conventions is not only kind but also necessary. Even though Dubai is more lax than other cities in the area, wearing skimpy clothing could get you a warning from the police or, at worst, some strange looks.
