The Aerium is a massive hangar for aircraft that was originally constructed for the Luftwaffe close to Berlin. Following Germany’s defeat in World War II, the Soviet Red Army seized control of it and used it to further their goals until their dictatorship fell.

There is now a sort of indoor water park in the hangar. After accounting for inflation, the conversion of an abandoned aeroplane hangar into a functional structure came to almost $100 million. An adult day pass at Tropical Islands, the water park at the Aerium, costs approximately $60.
