Myra the Emu and over sixty other farm rescues share her home at Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary in Cedarville, New Jersey. Since Myra is an adult emu, her approximate weight is eighty-two pounds.

She can sprint 31 miles per hour and is extremely tall. Although emus can kick quite well, they generally avoid fighting unless they sense a threat to themselves or their young, which is unlikely in Myra’s sanctuary.
