8.China’s Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport
The manta ray served as the inspiration for this airport’s model, according to architect Massimiliano Fuksas. Due to its towering, cavernous form, entering it gives you the impression that you are inside the beast. Its exterior’s honeycomb design, which is exquisitely detailed and somewhat of an optical illusion, lends it an animalistic appearance as well.
