10. IL-22PP Porubshchik: The Electronic Shield
Russia’s IL-22PP Porubshchik shows how dedicated electronic warfare platforms are always changing. This aircraft has several jamming technologies meant to defend strategic assets from both radar and communication-based hazards based on the IL-22 airframe. Its sophisticated electronic warfare suite can simultaneously launch offensive electronic attacks and produce electronic protection bubbles around friendly forces. The platform’s capacity to run in concert with ground-based electronic warfare equipment generates a complete electromagnetic defence network. Recent improvements include better electronic support measures for threat detection and analysis and expanded digital signal processing capacity.
