Scotland is home to the huge Clydesdale Horses, a breed you may not have realised were over two thousand pounds in weight. Adults can reach a height of six feet at their shoulders and run as fast as twenty miles per hour.

When it comes to size, Clydesdales are absolutely dwarfed by humans, as this picture demonstrates. Because they were developed for some of the hardest farm labour available, these horses are very robust. These large, heavy-set horses are renowned for having soft, serene dispositions.
