4. The Methodical Cleaning Schedule

You are ready now; it is time to start the real cleaning process. Starting with warm water, wet a dishwasher tablet just enough to moisten it without causing it to break down. Concentrating on areas with obvious filth or baked-on food, gently run the tablet over the inside surfaces of your oven. As the tablet comes into touch with the oven surfaces, it will start to froth. Re-wetting the tablet as necessary, keep this procedure going until you have coated all internal surfaces—including the door—but avoiding the heating sources. To help especially tough stains, keep bits of the moistened tablet on the affected area for a few minutes so the cleaning agents might break through the filth. After you have addressed all surfaces, let the foam sit for fifteen to twenty minutes. This waiting time lets the cleaning chemicals in the tablet work their magic, oil and difficult stains broken down. Use a damp sponge or towel to clean away the foam and dissolved dirt following the waiting time. Several times during this process, you might have to rinse your towel or sponge. Use a fresh tablet to go over any last difficult areas again. To guarantee all residue from the cleaning operation is eliminated, lastly give the whole oven inside a wipe-down using a clean, wet cloth.
