Hamar
The Hamar tribe, which is unique in its customs and culture, is located in southern Ethiopia. The tribe’s women go through a process called scarification. They are showing how patient they will be as brides in the future by showing these scars. They do not utter a sound as guys beat them with sticks on their backs during the rite.
