As of right now, Sultan Kosen, a Turkish farmer born in 1982, holds the record for being the tallest man on Earth. He is eight feet, 2.82 inches tall, with especially large arms, hands, and feet.

Here, Kosen is demonstrating the size of his hands by holding a regular-sized can of Pepsi. The two disorders that produce Kosen’s enormous height are gigantism and acromegaly, both of which are pituitary gland-related. Instead of making Kosen an NBA great, these ailments have forced him to use crutches to walk.
