One of the world’s heaviest breeds of freshwater snapper, the Alligator Snapping Turtle, is pictured here. With a biting force of 1,000 pounds, these turtles can easily break through bone. Alligator snappers, despite their intimidating appearance, are actually quite gentle and would usually flee from humans if they came across them.
