These lights are not just larger than you might have imagined, but also somewhat expensive. The Wyoming Department of Transportation (DoT) estimates that the cost of installing a traffic signal can range from $200,000 to half a million, particularly when additional expenses such as utility changes, maintenance, access ramps, and other intersection-related features are taken into account.
