4. Nano-Enhanced Lightning Rods: Microscopic Marvels, Massive Protection
Nano-enhanced versions of traditional lightning rods have given them a high-tech make-over. To greatly increase their efficiency, these next-generation lightning rods apply nanotechnology. Carbon nanotubes or another nano-scale substance covers the rods to generate millions of tiny conductive points. At attracting and channelling lightning strikes, this tiny forest of conductors is quite effective. By resisting corrosion and wear significantly better than conventional copper or aluminium rods, the nano-coating further improves the lifetime of the rod.
