10. Greenland home versus iceberg
Found in: Eastern Greenland. A day trip to see the icebergs in Greenland costs $5. Living in such close proximity to enormous icebergs may come as a shock to non-Greenlanders. As this picture illustrates, icebergs have the ability to develop enormously, reaching heights of more than 300 feet. Their mass can vary from 100,000 tonnes to more than 10 million tonnes; however, keep in mind that, despite their enormous size, up to 90% of the iceberg’s mass is completely submerged.
