166. Massive Wave Crashing
Found In: Unconfirmed
Est. Cost: N/A
The birds in this photo look pretty unphased and nonchalant, an emotion we would not be sharing if we were there. This photo features a pier in the midst of a heavy storm, with waves crashing over it before sliding back into the sea.

It’s always photos like these that provide a harsh reminder about just how terrifying the ocean is. Aside from the risk of being swept out, the sheer weight of a wave like that would be enough to cause anyone to think twice about going out onto the pier during a storm.
167. Giant Hands Playing Cards
Found In: Bregenz, Austria
Est. Cost: $9 million to build*
The Bregenz Festival is a fabulous affair, and it is held every single year in Bregenz, Vorarlberg, Austria. Its stage is one of the main highlights, as this floating feature is often rebuilt to look like something amazing, such as a pair of hands playing cards.

171. Earth-Sized Hurricane On Saturn
Found In: Saturn
Est. Cost: N/A
Imagine being in a vicious storm the size of the entire Earth. That was what happened on Saturn ten years ago, when a gigantic, roiling hurricane was spotted spinning extremely quickly, with winds reaching as fast as 320 miles per hour.

The hurricane is located atop the north pole of Saturn, the planet with the biggest storms in the solar system. Known as the Great Red Spot, this storm is a “megastorm,” a rare event that occurs every few decades and showers the planet in ammonia.
172. Megalodon Vs. Human
Found In: N/A (Extinct)
Est. Cost: N/A
This artificially-created image showcases the Megalodon as compared to a human being, and it reminds us, once again, why we are glad this gigantic, carnivorous beast is no longer around. The Meg was an oversized species of mackerel shark that lived millions of years ago.

Would it eat humans? Oh, absolutely. We’d be a mere snack compared to the 2,500 pounds of food this beast needs daily. The Meg’s jaw is enough to swallow a human whole, and the chance of surviving such an attack is almost zero.

House on the Rock and its 200-foot-long sea monster are roadside oddities if there ever were ones, as both are local features of Spring Green, Wisconsin. Tickets cost $36 per adult, and the entire strange museum takes about three hours to complete.
175. The Hindenburg Disaster
Found In: Manchester Township, New Jersey
Est. Cost: $3 million in damages*
When you see pictures of the Hindenburg disaster, you’re reminded of just how devastating and monstrous this tragedy was. The disaster occurred when a massive German airship, one of the largest in the world, caught fire when it landed.

Thirty-six people died as a result of the blaze. The cause of this disaster was a leaking gas cell, which allowed flammable air to spark with static electricity. The Hindenburg brought a total end to the age of rigid airships, and for good reason.
181. The Flemish Rabbit
Found In: Belgium
Est. Cost: $80 or upwards*
Rabbits are popular as pets due to their small size, which makes them seem super cute, but the Flemish rabbit can grow longer than four feet. The breed has existed since the 16th century and originated in Belgium.

Many people think that the rabbit came as a result of selectively breeding the Patagonian giant rabbit, which has now gone extinct. These rabbits were once bred for their meat and fur, but their sweet temperament has turned them into a fairly popular pet option.
182. Japanese Spider Crabs
Found In: Japan
Est. Cost: $100 onwards*
This monstrous creature seems like a crab had a baby with a spider, but it’s just a crustacean. The Japanese spider crab is the world’s largest crustacean and can grow up to a leg span of 12.5 feet.

These creatures can live for 100 years and are not as horrible as they seem. Their size has given rise to horrific mariners’ tales, but in reality, the crab is pretty much harmless. In fact, their meat is considered a delicacy in Japanese cuisine and is revered for its sweet taste.
183. Shaq’s Shoe in Comparison With a Basketball
Found In: NBA Store, New York City
Est. Cost: N/A
NBA players are known to have some of the tallest heights of all time, and Shaquille O’Neal is no different. Over his 19-year-long career in the NBA, the man became a champion four times, along with getting super famous for his enormous size.

Several images of Shaq are making rounds on the internet in which the former basketball star is seen holding everyday items that seem super tiny in his hands. Most people can’t even cover a basketball with their whole hands, but Shaq’s foot is much bigger.
184. The World’s Tallest Filing Cabinet
Found In: Burlington, Vermont
Est. Cost: N/A
Filing cabinets are already a mess when you need to quickly get your hands on something important, but imagine having to find something through this gigantic collection. This monstrosity contains 38 drawers and was built in 2002 by Bren Alvarez.

The drawers represent the years of paperwork that Alvarez had to accumulate while working on a road project. It is an ode to the ‘Southern COnnector’, a roadway initially proposed in 1965 but spent years in the making due to bureaucratic delays and other legal hiccups. The structure is supposed to be a commentary on the red-tapism within the bureaucracy.
185. Giant Zucchini
Found In: Unknown
Est. Cost: Unknown
While we’re not really sure where this Reddit picture comes from, we can still take a moment to applaud this man for his gardening skills. He breeds these giant zucchini for show, but that doesn’t mean they’re not edible.

It would be pertinent for you to note that these are still the smaller ones in his batch, meaning that his fully-grown creations could be much bigger than these. His plans are to donate these to the local homeless kitchens so they can feed several individuals with their soup.
186. Teeth That Belong to the Great White Shark
Found In: Catalina Island, California
Est. Cost: $60 and upwards*
Great white sharks are one of the many factors that scare people from ever entering the ocean, and that fear might not be too irrational. This scuba diver was blissfully kayaking in Camp Emerald Bay near Catalina Island when a great white shark tried to bite into his kayak.

This experience was enough to scare off even Danny McDaniel, who has been a diver for 20 years and has swum with many sharks. But he mentioned that he had never encountered one this big, which just caused his heart to freeze in the moment. Fortunately, the shark left by itself, but not without leaving behind two of its own teeth as souvenirs for the diver.
187. Indian Step-wells
Found In: Rajasthan, India
Est. Cost: N/A
This might just look like an architectural marvel, which it is, but it also serves a practical purpose. You’re looking at what’s called a step-well, and these can be found in several places in India, dating centuries back.

Indian Step-wells ©r/bizarrebuildings/Reddit
Known as baori in the local language, step-wells are wells but with a vast number of steps that descend to where the water is present. This one, in particular, is from a village called Chand Bawri and has 3,500 steps to the bottom. Step-wells significantly defined Indian subterranean architecture from the 7th to 19th century.
188. Crystals Bigger Than Humans
Found In: Naica, Mexico
Est. Cost: $0.16 per carat*
You may be used to keeping tiny crystals in your living room for energy, but crystals as long as 39 feet also exist in this world. The Cave of Crystals was discovered in the Naica mine in 2000, and it was filled with gigantic gypsum growing up to the size of telephone poles.

However, the problem with the cave is its extreme temperatures. On average, the temperature can reach up to 136°F, with at least 90% humidity. It’s this factor that keeps the cave largely unexplored because, without adequate protection, no one can stay exposed to this climate for more than 10 minutes.
189. Tallest Man Ever
Found In: USA
Est. Cost: N/A
The title of the tallest man ever has been claimed by several individuals at one point in history; however, Robert Wadlow from Illinois is the true undisputed champion of that title. Wadlow was almost nine feet tall when he passed away at the age of 22.

Tallest Man Ever @imgur/Pinterest
While life as the tallest man on Earth may seem fascinating, it is anything but that. Wadlow suffered from hypertrophy, which is what led to his height being abnormally tall. He required leg braces to walk and never felt his legs or feet properly.
