Following a successful run, the Ford Bronco was terminated in 1996. The reason for the discontinuation was the drop in demand for two-door SUVs among consumers; the Bronco was replaced by the four-door Excursion and Expedition. That being said, the Bronco has returned, and its engines have drawn attention immediately. The NHTSA is looking into the possibility of catastrophic failures stemming from valves dropping into the cylinders.
