It begs the question of how many of these “DIY Projects” on Pinterest are indeed the products of bored homeowners who purchase decorations from Marshalls or TJ Maxx and claim to have made them themselves. With the leaf jar, it seems that this is the case. A lovely fall-themed décor sits atop, purportedly constructed from mason jars, fallen leaves, twine, glue, and a light.

The identical ingredients are shown at the bottom, but without the light, and it’s clear that the individual attempting to replicate the DIY experiment didn’t have much luck. It would be better if you purchased home decor and pretended to make it—no one would ever find out.
