Cherry Pit Spitting Championship

The game may seem simple and fun, but it has unexpectedly strict rules that have been developed over the years of hosting the championship. For instance, it is prohibited to have any objects in your mouth that could aid in spitting further. The cherries must be of the same variety (‘Montmorency’) and at a specific temperature (between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius). Participants must keep their palms below their shoulders to prevent the possibility of slapping themselves on the cheeks and giving the pit additional acceleration.
