The Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant was approved and put into service fifteen years after construction got underway in 1983. The plant has undergone significant maintenance and improvement over the years, but the work hasn’t come cheaply, especially in light of the last two extensions.

The third and fourth units of the power plant are currently being constructed as part of ongoing operations. By 2023, all four should be operational, at which point their combined net output will produce about 1,842 megawatts. That is over 40 million families’ worth of power.
