The F-18 Super Hornet is one of several twin-engine, multi-role, carrier-capable aircraft models. These variations are based on McDonnell-Douglas’ Hornet. Boeing is the one who designed the Super Hornet. The Super Hornet is equipped to carry missiles from air to air. It is also capable of carrying air-to-surface weaponry.

An integrated 20mm M61 rotary gun is a feature of the Super Hornet. With the addition of a refueling system, the aircraft can be transformed into an airborne tanker, making it a versatile tool. Five extra fuel tanks are compatible with the Super Hornet. 608 have been produced thus far, at a flyaway cost of $66 million in 2020.
