The J-10 is sometimes referred to as the “Vigorous Dragon” in Chinese. China’s answer to the F-15 and F-16 used by the US military, as well as the Su-27 operated by the USSR, was the J-10. Producing one J-10 costs about $27.84 million. “Project 10” is the internal project name.
