The RAF, GAF, IAF, and SAF are currently using the twin-engine, canard-delta wing, multirole Eurofighter Typhoon fighter. Since 1994, it has been manufactured; 570 units have been constructed to date. The company that makes them, Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH, is essentially Boeing’s European equivalent.

After the Cold War, work on the Typhoon began. Although Western Europe is the region that uses it most frequently, orders from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar will increase the total number of units manufactured to 623. The Typhoon is built to be an incredibly effective close-quarters fighter, or “dogfighter,” in battle.
