8.New Spring Outfit: The Pillowcase Look
Rising early, “mam?” Well, you certainly look it over. That outfit absolutely looks like something we would cover our cherished bed pillows with. One could question if the designer unintentionally strolled into a home goods store for inspiration instead of a fabric shop given the striking similarity to bedroom furniture. Scratch that, given the cover and all, that garment looks like the real pillows themselves. It’s difficult to tell where home décor ends and fashion starts as the voluminous silhouette and quilted texture clearly relate to bedroom accessories. Though we’re not sure why the designers of this experimental sleepyhead fashion created this pillow dress, they should definitely consider the variations between bed linens and outfits. Perhaps that will help them some-good. The whole idea seems to blur the boundaries between comfort wear and evening dress in a manner that doesn’t quite work for either category. We cannot, however, simply trash this outfit without offering one positive comment on it. We certainly have to acknowledge that this hue of glossy green is overused and underappreciated notwithstanding the pillowcase design. At least they created a fashion statement inspired by a bedroom by using a striking colour.
