7.Are Those… Ravioli?
Umm.; what? We absolutely will require a review on what on Earth those jeans are meant to be. Either Italian cuisine or a really disorganised quilting endeavour gone bad seems to have inspired the design. Like, why would anyone in their right thinking create trousers like that? We’re not completely clear whether the square-shaped cutouts or additions are, but they produce an odd optical illusion that’s both confusing and rather unsettling. We’re not even sure if those squares on her behind are actually simply holes in the jeans exposing the framed behind, skin-colored patches, or bits of stitched tapestry. The uncertainty of the design components makes it even more perplexing: are we staring at a wardrobe malfunction just waiting to happen or a creative textile experiment? Really, what on earth is happening here? Although we have seen rather a lot of legwear over our time, we have never seen anything exactly like this. These pants are absolutely ridiculous—never seen anything like them. Land firmly in the realm of “just because you can doesn’t mean you should,” the designer seems to have strayed that thin line between avant-garde fashion and pure stupidity.
