6.Nice Dress, But You’re Still Undressed

We thus have a different issue with this dress even if it isn’t as ugly or fashionably objectionable as the other outfits we have discussed throughout this page. Simply said, that’s not very much of a dress. Here, the minimalist approach seems to have strayed from daring to daring-to-bare. Like, is there any dressing going on with this dress? Not really. The designer seems to have carried the “less is more” idea to its farthest extreme, producing something that resides in that contentious area between haute couture and hardly-there fashion. Stated differently, if you know what we mean, this dress most definitely leaves little to inspire the imagination. The mere simplicity and deliberate arrangement of the minimal fabric present doubts regarding the practical wearability of such a piece. Not to say this isn’t beautiful; if we were to say she wasn’t rocking that look, we would be lying. Still, the issue is: wouldn’t she get a little chilly dressing just that? It’s a fantastic illustration of how occasionally modern fashion puts artistic expression and shock value ahead of pragmatic concerns like, you know, actually covering the wearer.
