In 2016, the Boeing and Saab Group-built T-7 Red Hawk made its maiden flight. Only two Red Hawks have been produced thus far, and the design is still ongoing. It is a highly skilled trainer. It is intended to take the place of Northrop’s T-38 Talon project. Design discussions for the Red Hawk were started back in 2003.

The Red Hawk appears to be a formidable stealth aircraft, proving that the wait was worthwhile. The Tuskegee Airmen, who were renowned for brightly painting the tails of their planes red, are honored with the Red Hawk name.
A few more Red Hawk developments have occurred recently. As part of a collaboration with Purdue, Saab declared that it would be establishing a manufacturing in the United States. T-X would be produced at the plant. Additionally, Boeing declared that it will replace the F-5/Dornier Alpha with an armed Red Hawk.
