Harrier

While their playful and friendly demeanor makes them great with children and other dogs, Harriers can be a handful for inexperienced owners. Their strong prey drive and natural curiosity mean they may have a tendency to wander off if not kept on a leash or in a securely fenced area. Training is essential to help channel their energy and teach recall, but their independent streak can make them somewhat stubborn. Consistent, positive reinforcement and early socialization are key to raising a well-mannered Harrier.
