Siberian Husky

The Siberian Husky originates from Siberia, where the Chukchi people bred it to pull sleds. This high-energy breed is not suited to being a couch dog or a backyard dog. Highly intelligent, Huskies are prone to mischief and can become extremely destructive when bored or left alone. They are avid diggers and skilled escape artists.
PetVet has ranked the Siberian Husky as one of the worst breeds for first-time pet owners, noting that “obedient Siberian Husky” is almost an oxymoron. With a strong predatory instinct, they may view smaller pets like cats or hamsters as prey. Huskies are also known for their loud, siren-like howls. However, they make excellent jogging companions in cool weather. Their thick coat sheds heavily twice a year. Despite their challenges, Huskies are happy, playful, and independent-minded dogs.
