Chihuahua

The Chihuahua was first discovered in 1850 and is named after the Mexican state where it was found. As the smallest dog breed, it weighs between two to six pounds and stands just a few inches tall. Its bulging eyes and perky ears are its defining features. However, despite its small size, the Chihuahua is far from harmless.

Chihuahuas are known for being yappy, nippy, and aggressive. They will boldly challenge larger dogs, seemingly unaware of their tiny stature. They are strong-willed, proud, and lively, yet also affectionate, loving, and loyal companions. This breed often suffers from “Small Dog Syndrome” and is fiercely protective of its human, reacting to perceived or real threats. Chihuahuas are not good with children, as they tend to distrust them and may become snappish.
