The Pit Bull is a strong and powerful dog with incredibly strong jaws, making it a breed that is not suitable for everyone. When properly socialized and trained, Pit Bulls can be loyal watchdogs and loving family pets. Despite their affectionate and gentle side, the breed has a history rooted in 1800s England, where they were originally bred for bull and bear baiting. After these blood sports were banned in 1935, dogfighting became a common use for the breed.

Pit Bulls are naturally aggressive due to their breeding history and are known for their determination in fights with other dogs.
