Pekingese

The Pekingese is famously stubborn. Originally bred as lapdog companions for the ancient Imperial family of China, some were even designated as royal dogs. They retain their regal heritage with a proud attitude and a strong-willed nature that demands respect. Training a Pekingese is challenging, as they often believe they are in charge and display a deeply ingrained obstinacy. Harsh discipline may result in biting.

Well-socialized Pekingese are affectionate with their owners and families but view strangers as intruders, making them excellent watchdogs. Despite their small size, they are incredibly brave and will fiercely defend against perceived threats if necessary.
