French Bulldog

The French Bulldog is a great choice if you’re looking for a dog that doesn’t require much exercise. Frenchies are not suited for jogging, cannot swim, and cannot tolerate heat, as they were bred to be lap dogs. Being a brachycephalic breed with a “squished face,” they cannot regulate their body temperature well and must stay indoors in a climate-controlled environment. On the bright side, they shed very little.

French Bulldogs are not ideal for first-time dog owners. Their brachycephalic nature makes them prone to health issues and diseases. Training this breed can also be quite difficult, as they often try to assert themselves as the alpha, which can lead to aggressive behavior. Despite these challenges, their adorable squished face, bat-like ears, and affectionate personality make them hard to resist. They are enthusiastic and friendly without being overly loud or yappy. However, they do not tolerate being left alone, so someone needs to be home with them most of the time.
