The Hook End Manor, one of the oldest structures on this list, has a sumptuous past. Throughout its lengthy history, it has housed singers like David Gilmour and Alvin Lee and even functioned as a mental institution. Both vocalists recorded multiple albums at the recording studio that the former erected in the barn. Eventually, Trever Horn bought the building and transformed it into an opulent recording studio.

Numerous occupants of the mansion have reported seeing paranormal activity while on the property. While Horn’s son was practicing with his air rifle in 2006, he unintentionally shot his mother, which did result in a very serious tragedy. After that, the home was sold to producer Mark White, who kept funding the studio even as the interior of the mansion became chaotic and was all but abandoned.
