Many people believe that the Pripyat Amusement Park is the most eerie abandoned park in all of Europe. The park had scheduled a grand opening for May 1, 1986, but it was ultimately postponed due to the nuclear accident at Chernobyl, which occurred a few days earlier on April 26. Some claim that on April 27, the park was only open for one day as amusement for people waiting to leave the area before it was permanently abandoned.

Because the park is close to Chernobyl, radiation levels are still very high there. Even now, there are festive decorations outside the rides, put up for a day that never came. The location is extremely eerie due to its dazzling aura and the aftermath of the calamity.
