This massive structure was once a mental health center. Established in 1896, the Gartloch Hospital is situated in Glasgow, Scotland. Gartloch served as both a psychiatric unit and a tuberculosis rehabilitation facility. Its maximum number of beds, 830, was reached in 1904. Gartloch was transformed into an emergency hospital for injured Allies during World War II.

Despite being a government-protected historical landmark, the hospital saw a downturn in the 1980s and closed officially in 1996. Gartloch is also said to have a fair share of ghosts, including a poltergeist that psychiatric nurses who work on the hospital’s floor have witnessed, along with former patients.
