The project’s ultimate objective is for the city to run totally on renewable energy, mostly wind and solar energy. NEOM will have its own airport, which will be situated on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast in the northwest. The first section of NEOM is expected to be finished by 2025, notwithstanding obstacles and work stoppages.
