When you purchased a power strip, did you ever believe you were set for life? Fear not, the majority of us have. Sadly, it was a poor choice. In order to maintain compliance and reduce the possibility of a possible fire danger, power strips should be changed at least once every seven years.

The power strip should be thrown out and replaced right immediately if any of the plug sockets stop working or if the wiring appears loose. Even though they only cost $10 to replace, it’s never worth the risk because these machines handle a lot of electricity.
Power strips are often used in multiple rooms in homes, so if you’re using them to power equipment like dryers or washing machines, proceed with extra caution. In the event that something goes wrong, the machine it’s providing can also experience issues.
