In their century-old house, Nick Drummond and Patrick Bakker found something out of the ordinary. The centurion’s walls had sixty-six bottles from the Prohibition era, which the couple discovered hidden there. The couple dismissed the rumor that their home was constructed by a notorious bootlegger as a local folktale, even though they had been informed about it.

That is, until they discover something intoxicating in 2020 while renovating their house. Nick and Patrick discovered the bottles hidden in places accessible by floor and wall hatches. The Ames couple seemed to be sitting on a whiskey-filled gold mine, as Blacktail NYC estimates that bottles of Prohibition-era whiskey can fetch up to $1,000.
