This section of the ship was discovered by local fishermen, who also carried out the necessary excavations, revealing 130,000 objects within. Rich embellishments adorned the pottery on board, which was inspired by European requests for similar ceramics as well as Chinese designs.

The remaining works were put up for auction, with three Vietnamese museums having the option to choose which ones to show. Among the most well-known items on board were from Guangzhou in Guangdong and Jingdezhen in Jiangxi province.
