The pearl, which came from a large clam, was originally kept under the bed as a good luck charm, but the owner of the bed forgot it was there. This 2.2′ x 1′ pearl, which is currently known as the Puerto Princesa pearl, is on display at the town hall of the discovery location. The pearl was first discovered by a fisherman, and NPR estimates its value at about $93 million.
