When the Israel Defense Forces realized they needed to upgrade to a vehicle better fitted for transporting soldiers during missions in urban locations, they came up with the idea for the Hatehof (formerly Carmor) Wolf. For use in urban combat, the IMD bought 150 Wolf Armored Vehicles.

The Wolf gives the IDF a much-needed boost over the Bardelas M113 in terms of protection and handling capabilities. The Wolf possesses APC armor along with the speed and agility of a truck. All of these characteristics are required in low-intensity confrontations. With a V8 engine under the hood, the Wolf’s chassis is really based on that of a Ford F-550 pickup truck.
