The Turkish Armed Forces deploy a family of Otokar military vehicles, of which the Cobra is a member. The Cobra’s V-shaped, monocoque steel hull provides some protection against anti-personnel mines, IEDs, tank mines, and artillery shell shrapnel, as well as against small weapon fire. The Cobra’s front wheel arches are made to disintegrate during an explosion, releasing blast pockets.

There’s no messing around with the armored vehicle. When an RPG was fired directly at an Otokar Cobra in 2016, video of the attempted attack went viral. The team within remained unhurt at all.
